CCE - Centro Cultural de España en Montevideo
The current complex of the Spanish Cultural Center CCE was built in 1912, originally conceived as a commercial establishment owned by the Casa Mojana company, an important bazaar and hardware store of the time.
In the 1980s, the building was acquired by the State, and in 1996 it was declared a National Historic Monument at the initiative of the National Cultural Heritage Commission. That same year, it was granted under a loan-for-use agreement to the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation in order to establish a cultural complex in the building.
